Song 11 - Smells Like Teen Spirit
Jumping ahead a bit on my Rock Songbook journey with a tune I’ve played many, many times—so I treated this one more like a refreshed practice session than a brand‑new cover. I still feel like this take is a step up from my earlier recordings of the song.
I’m playing my Fender Stratocaster through an Orange Crush on the clean channel, kicking on the Boss DS‑1 for the choruses (Kurt’s favorite distortion). For the solo, I stacked the Ibanez TS‑9 on top just to give it a little extra push.
Pretty happy with how this one turned out, but I’m always open to feedback!

Rock Songbook Journey - Song 4
La Grange – ZZ Top
I finally made my way back to this challenge with song #4. Interestingly, I skipped over this a couple times mainly because of the descending bridge section. Still didn’t hit it perfect but am ready to move onto a new song! You might notice I did a bit of overdubbing post-video for a couple parts I messed up. So if the audio and video don’t exactly line up throughout, that is why.
