About the third stab around months later. Finally pretty darn close. I’d say 80-90% of the way there.

Are you trying to transcribe it exactly as it is in the song? Idk if it should be done that way, but for me I’m just trying to mimic it as close as I can and if I think it’s right or that I can’t pinpoint anything else I check the actually riff.
I did all of them and I did not get exactly right any one, but some of them were off just by a note and sounded really close to the actual thing.
Honestly I don’t think that people are expected to pinpoint everything in the beginner grade, maybe in advanced you would need to get at least 50% right.
If I would go the route of ear training test I would just get frustrated and tired, I even quit for a year or so coz it wasn’t fun and I didn’t understand what I like or want to do with guitar. Doesn’t mean that I don’t do it, I just do it sometimes and not as primary thing
On my first run through (pre hints) and think I’ve been pretty much there up until tonight’s practice working on Black Night. Slightly annoying to read these comments and find that others seem to have found this one straight forward! Anyway, will keep going and brace myself for Pretty Woman!
One thing I’ve been struggling with is how to use GuitarPro, in terms of rhythm. May have to invest time there to help get the transcription ringing true.
