You’d be mad to buy a new phone just for audio recordings. You can pick up a usb mic or a webcam for a fraction of the price with similar results.
On the other hand, if you need an excuse for a new phone…

I had the same issue at first and it was just a minor stuff in the settings
now it works fine in stereo
I use OBS and a webcam
maybe you can have a look in your audio settings ?
