hey jozsef, I posted the video of my atrocity. Take a look and tell me what you think if you have the time…
hi sequences, just posted my atrocity. Take a look if you dare…
I just watched your video and maybe you’re just trying to run before you can walk to use an old saying. In my opinion, what you’re trying to play isn’t trivial and when you layer singing on top of that, then it’s another thing for the brain to try and compute. I’d be breaking down the tricky bits, playing them in isolation over and over and over before adding them back into the song, initially without singing.
I will add that what you’re playing is well above my current level so perhaps you want advice from a better player than me, but it’s just how I’d start to tackle this task, breaking it down into simpler sub-tasks and building up over the days. It can be frustrating that we think progress should be faster but I’ve learned to be happy with any progress I make. Keep with it, you’ll get there because I don’t think based on the video you’re that far away
FWIW Benji - you do not need to tell everyone individually that you have replied or posted your video. Just once will be enough, as everyone will see the initial post. As you can see ALL 4 messages appear in the topic.
I agree with Matt - you need to slow that down and then work on increasing the speed. Find the speed you can play it with good timing and then bump it up just a little. Watch your timing to make sure it is consistent. Get your transitions from the strum into the single notes to be consistent (use drum or metronome or slow the original track). Your brain is pausing to figure out what to do and you need to have better familiarity before you can go fast with accuracy.
just as a side note - your pauses sound a lot like mine do when I am going too fast. it takes me a while to get the transitions to run together properly, but when it finally happens once, it seems to be very smooth shortly after that. Get it going slowly first rather than fight going too fast. You should see it will get you playing it nicely a lot faster.
