So far this year, Iāve seen Lake Street Dive and Hairball (80s rock cover band from MN). I donāt have tickets for anything else just yet, but Iāve got my eyes on a few for later this year, including the Tedeschi Trucks Band, and probably a day of Summerfest. If I can swing the cross-country trip in July, I may also go see Dead and Co. with my dad, too.
I had no idea they were still together and touring!
Some great gigs/bands being named on here.
My first was Ian Brown (stone roses) when he toured his first solo album.
Last gig was The Murder Capital in feb, great band, especially live.
Iām seeing Bill Ryder-jones on Monday, Billy Nomates Tuesday and Benifits on Saturday, busy week lol
First: Deep Purple in 2018
Last: Scorpions in 2019
Next: who knows, maybe a concert after our victory. Scorpions said theyād like to perform there.
Iām still sad that I missed both Iron Maiden and Poets of the Fall shows I had tickets for at first because of the covid and now because of the war.
Just fresh from Vytautas Magnus University Botanical Gardens in Kaunas, Lithuania. Was a very small open-air concert in front of maybe a hundred chairs at most (might have been the smallest venue that I actually witnessed in my life); mainly, local (Lithuanian) performer with a wide range of styles (each of her album is quite different from the last) singing live accompanied by an electric piano player (in a very small gazebo lol). We sat in frontā¦ it was quite enjoyable. And that got me thinkingā¦ I donāt think that many artists would do such a small venture.
First: Gordon Lightfoot, 1980
Last: Fiddler on the Roof, 2016 (yeah, maybe not a concert, but it IS a musical)
Next: who knows - maybe āSequencesā playin the Blues at some famous place!
First : Def Leppard, Hysteria tour, Wembley, 1988
Last : Rumours of Fleetwood Mac, Portsmouth Guildhall - good, but not great.
Next : Aussie Pink Floyd, Portsmouth Guildhall, November - will be the 3rd time, always epic
First: I WANT to say VH 5150 tour in Chicago cuz it was the first I physically bought tickets for. But I have to go back to when I was a kid and my parents took me to Willie Nelson and Family live at Poplar Creek Amphitheater outside Chicago, this was probably about 1980-ish
Last: Whiskey Myers with Read Southall Band and The Weathered Souls in Tuscaloosa, AL back in October '22. Opening acts far exceeded my expectations and the headliner delivered
First: Marillion, NEC 1988
Last: Iron Maiden, Nottingham Arena 2023
Next: The Dead Daisies, Rock City Nottingham September 2024 (and just this minute bought tickets for The Cult at De Montford, Leicester in Oct 2024)
