For starters, Timmy learned not to fall in the well. so lassie didn’t burn time rescuing me.
This was a fun week for things hitting a nice spot so excitement leads to sharing even with just small gains

  • However learned tons about peoples play style on here responding to the strum post. Very interesting and informative.
  • Learned how to string my fender acoustic, les paul, and tele. Still have the strat to tackle
  • learned various pedal routing; which pieces within the fx loop, or in front of amp and why and how to gain stage those.
    *One of our guitarist taught me how to fix a volume knob. Top hay kept popping off due probably previous owner banged it out of the pot tabs which caused the hats not to seat and grip.
  • The coolest though when said guitarist spent time teaching me the DADGAD setup, 1 2 finger chord shape strumming. I love that emotional Celtic\Appalachian\Indian resonant drone sound.
  • He also showed me demos of using a slide. Having my machine shop it was fun checking out different tones produced using glass, brass, alum and a good old 3/4 socket. Also some info on gear to raise the strings at the nut and last fret for proper slide height
    Always a big thanks to on-line people, those we spend get to have face to face with- the mentors, teachers & friends that helps us all grow. Be well & happy

Don’t try the 10mm socket. You’ll never find it again.

My shop just sends stuff into the twilight zone as soon as someone sets something down. Cleaned up a brass punch but to sold and heavy, tuned chime pipe to light. polished up a 5/8 and so far the best. However i will try a “older craftsman” 9 mil. If the old days you could take em back to sears claiming it failed as a socket and only works as a slide. Lifetime guarantee might get one a replacement
