I agree that it could be the harp.
What about the easiest musical instrument to play.
I think itās the triangle. But perhaps some triangle players will be upset with me. ![]()
Iām sure the most difficult instrument of all is a left-handed guitar for a right-handed person; Nitsuj is one of the few whoās ever managed it
Hands clapping probably ![]()
Looks like Nitsuj series is gone⦠The last Module of Grade 1 (Module 7) is not on YouTube, and the whole Grade 2 as well.
Maybe itās not hosted on YouTube, but the videos are there and show how Nitsuj masters this difficult instrument

Yes. Itās sad not being on YouTube, I really use the subtitles since Iām not an english native speaker, and the playback speed is very useful (on YouTube we have more options).
It really is
but you know, I like this, because the more difficult something is (in this case a musical instrument), the greater the feeling of reward and accomplishment when āmasteringā it, in my opinion.
I donāt think so.
What about all the left handed people on this forum (like me, but there are many others) who are left handed and play a right handed guitar every day?

Every day part of my mind wonders if I should start over left handed.
because that would be insane.
Go ahead Emitno
Then youāre one of the few people whoāve retrained from playing left-handed to right-handed; I think itās very difficult to retrain a posture thatās been ingrained for so long, and you deserve a great deal of respect
Actually, although my left hand is extremely dominant, it never occurred to me to start with a left handed guitar. Actually, I didnāt know they existed.
I only found out after joining this forum. I just started straight away with a right handed guitar. Lots of people on this forum have done that.
There are advantages and disadvantages (as discussed in many other threads), but thatās why I donāt think itās the most difficult instrument - because lotās of us have done it probably without any more problems than people normally encounter when picking up a guitar for the first time.
I have been considering for some time learning the bass, and I did think that I may possibly do that with a left handed one to see how it goes. However, thereās a lot less choice with left handed guitars - both models and colours.
and they are often a bit more expensive (which is understandable given the smaller size of the market). It puts me off. If I find that fingerstyle goes ok with the right handed guitar (Iām learning some now) then when I finally go for it with the bass, Iāll probably just stick with a right handed model. Obviously no problems with using my left hand for fretting - but less dexterity in my right hand for strumming and picking.
Great question!
Iād say the instrument that is the hardest to learn is the one you really donāt like and actually donāt want to play.
As long as you love your instrument, motivation and ambition work on your side and will help you to master some surprising things

I was about to say, Uillean pipes no contest. If you go with full set- chanter, drones and regulator (!). Chanter can bend pitch (unlike highland pipes etc.)
In my mind theyāre all probably similarly āhardā ![]()
If it seems easier to generate sounds with them (triangle, tambourine), folk automatically expect a higher level of competency or musicianship.
The most complicated to play across its potential?
Iād go for synthesizer ![]()
Not the spoons?
Ever try to get an authentic spoon sound from a synth? ![]()
Violin isnāt acutaly that hard. If you learn piano before learning violin it makes it supper easy!![]()
A harp looks pretty hard. One of the hardest I think is probably the Bag pipes. One more is a 24 string Guitar!
