I started with Justin in 2022, with an acoustic and then added a Strat. I was working full time and had little time to be consistent with learning. In 2025, I retired and rode my bicycle across the United States. I filmed the trip with on-board action cameras and am learning video editing to document the adventure. Finding background music has been challenging for various reasons. Around this time I was mentally checking out of learning guitar. Then it hit me-I learned enough practical knowledge and music theory (I had added that from your offerings) that I thought I could learn how to compose my own background music. Long story short, I added a MIDI keyboard and a DAW, am learning to play piano and am doubling down on guitar. My energy level and desire is now through the roof because I have a massive BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal) to score my videos with my own music. I also have a desire to do documentaries of people I admire to honor them. Who knows what else. Thought I’d share this as setting (or discovering) a meaningful BHAG is a giant way to stay after it. It would have been easy to quit, but I would have been miserable the rest of my life wondering what could have been. Thank you, Justin! Perry Kuznar, United States
I want to just understand music. I really love listening to music and playing but don’t entirely know why these notes sound so good together or catch my ear. I also want to make music and having knowledge will make the process easier and open my mind to different ideas than what I know based off what sounds good.

Want to add that I had gotten a physical book on theory to learn it but it just didn’t stick with me. I think having both reading information and being taught it from a teacher is the best way to learn for me, so these lessons were more appealing.
