My name is Scott, I am old. I wish I had been motivated to learn guitar 50 years ago. I really didn’t even think about it, then. Just think how cool I would I be now!
I got an accoustic guitar over 2 years ago. It is put out by Keith Urban and came with a bunch of dvds. I saw it on a. Infomercial and was all about “learn 30 songs in 30 days” Yeah right! I tried it and failed. Seems like an alright guitar, but I put it down. A year later I saw a facebook commercial, a guy focusing on fingerstyle for old people. I bought in. I learned some things, bought some of his books, but it didn’t feel right. Gave up. Found another guy online, bought in, somewhat learned a lot of chords and slowly progressed until I got to bar chords, then crashed. Lifetime course though so, I will go back. Found another guy online and bought in, did his 30 day startup and then realized I still don’t know a thing and have not learned a song or even really been shown one since the fingerstyle guy. That was a pay by the year thing so I have a few months left there.
I started Justin’s beginner course last week and his way is far and above what I have seen, I bought his songbook to go along with the course. It helps me to see it on paper. I actually played “Three little birds”, today and fumbled along trying to sing it. I was very tickled with myself.
I am looking forward to learning more and although I haven’t spent much here, yet, I do intend to get some more lessons as I progress.
