I’m an older beginner who’s tried and given up playing the guitar many times over my adult life, but I keep coming back to it. More recently, however, I’ve finally made a bit of a breakthrough and can now maintain simple strumming patterns while changing chords. And my chord changing speed is coming along finally! Also taught myself the minor pentatonic scale (in all 5 positions) and can play it in any key so I’m working on being able to do some soloing as well. I do a lot of concert photography and can count some very successful musicians among my friends and they keep giving me encouragement to keep plugging away at it.
