Robert here. JG BLIM3, first internet guitar course and I’m still getting my feet wet. Like the way the course is laid out to include history, electric and acoustic music, guitar skills, etc… My guitar abilities fit into the category Justin describes as: a “guitar player (who spent) far too many hours practicing their technique… developing (incredible) chops but having nothing to say, no understanding of what they’re saying, and no songs to say it in.” He’s right, “you’re unlikely to feel satisfied.” That’s what brought me here.
I’m a little behind due to life and technology. I now find myself planted in front of my computer with a guitar in hand as opposed to a music stand that’s been with me for over a decade. GarageBand has been on all my devices for years, but I never saw the point. Now I’m spending hours (literally) trying to figure out how it works. I did manage to download and record over a backing track, but I fear it will take hours to figure it out again. Same is true for GuitarPro. I had a look, but again the learning curve to figure out how to get it up and running will take hours away from practice time and catching up with the rest of you in this course. For now, an iPhone will have to do for submitting any recording. Enough whining. (We do a lot of that in Sonoma.)
Suggestion for JG: Tutorials for these apps (I saw JG has a GarageBand tutorial in the works) would be helpful for those of us still catching up with the 21st century.
