My name is Bill (NOLABill). I’m 71-years-old. I got my first guitar as a surprise Christmas gift in 1992. I took about 6 months of lessons in the mid 1990s and then quit in frustration. The instructor was okay but he had me playing 1930s and 1940s show tunes and I hated it. I tried a number of online courses but nothing really appealed to me. Then I stumbled on JustinGuitar and things changed. The songs and teaching technique were more to my liking. It was slow going at first; however, as I became more interested and serious about learning, I began to see real improvement, I decided to start Justin’s course from the beginning about 2 years ago. I’m now in Grade 5 and loving every minute of it. Since I’m retired I play just about every day. Hopefully, next year at this time I’ll be good enough to try to post something. I’m just glad to be a part of such a wonderful community of guitar lovers.
