Hi everyone, my name is Paul, and I’d categorise myself as a slowly advancing beginner as of April '22. A sort of campfire guitar player, I guess.

I’ve been a bit haphazard in my approach to learning guitar so far, but, as retirement approaches, I’m determined to improve and develop my playing. I’ve always played alone in my cellar/ basement, but recently, I was asked round by a friend who plays lots of country music to have a little jam. It’s been great to play with someone, even if it is just me playing bass notes whilst he does his thing!

I’d like to expand my repertoire - I play some James Morrison, REM, Stereophonics etc at the moment, and also get more confident about singing as well as playing ( I’m rubbish at this right. now). It would be great to play at an open mike event one day - there’s a great local scene around this here in rural Herefordshire!
