I am Erion (air-ree-on). I live in South Wales (UK), just outside Cardiff. I am 43. When I was 10, I went to a music school for 4 years. I learnt to play the oboe and some basic piano, and I learnt music theory. I’ve loved music eversince and I’ve often asked myself what would have happened if I had continued the music path. I’ve been working in IT for the last 20 years and I’m now a cybersecurity consultant.

I taught myself how to play guitar when I was a teenager, and played occasionally for fun, just strumming along songs I liked.
2 years ago I picked up the electric guitar and decided I was going to learn to play it properly. I started with an old Ibanez Gio that my wife had gifted me a long time ago, and then moved to a Fender Player Strat. Since then, I’ve been playing guitar almost every single day for about 1hr, and I’m happy with the progress. I’ve been following @JustinGuitar for over 1 year now, and I’ve benefited massively from the free material on the website. I’ve completed the courses from grade 1 to 4, and I’ve just started the music theory one.

I’ve grown very fond of the Blues, which is why I’m taking this course. I would like to be confident in improvisation, but I’m also aware that I need to improve my technique. My favourite artists are Eric Clapton and Roy Buchanan.
