Retired old U.S. guy. I was in baritone ukulele band in 4th grade (circa 1972) and learned a few chords. I played oboe in Jr/High School band in the mid-to-late 70s but hated it. I bought a Stratocaster in 1991, took some lessons, switched to self-taught, and fizzled out. Too much “real life” always got in the way. Now I’m retired and I’m going to learn to play guitar decently or get old and die trying. Also, my immediate family were all classically-trained musicians, most of whom made their living in music education. I’m the black sheep of the family. I became a firmware engineer and had a blast writing code for 37 years.
