Hi, Glyn ,
The rhythm guitarfor grade 1 already getting off to a good startand the chord changes also go quite well… but it is important that you also play existing songs or play along because that is a completely different skill to just play and change chords ,playing whole songs is a must for us to learn well … What I also must say alway tune your guitar after putting a capo on because now your guitar is not in tune, or do you sometimes press the strings too hard, causing it to sound out of tune?
I don’t remember for too long what is taught in grade 1, so I can’t say anything based on this video whether you should continue to grade 2, I do know that Justin says during the consolidation lesson that he mainly practices songs…

Have fun and if you think you are ready for grade 2 go for it and don`t forget to look back now and then :sunglasses: and play/learn some grade 1 songs  :sunglasses:

Greetings

I do practice song as well. Guitar is bit out if tune on Video. If i tune it with capo on il be changing the key to same as it is with it off wont i?. I messed about with what key i liked and found therebthe best

Good rhythm and chord changes. Welcome to grade 2. You can keep consolidating with grade 1 songs while learning new stuff in grade 2. And keep practicing with metronome or backing track or original song, they’ll force you to play in time.

Hi,
First of all, I think it is more convenient not to use a capo for what you are doing now, but if you want to do it this way, you tune the guitar precisely to the notes of what is usual on the place where the capo is located … so in you case f#-b-e-a-c#-f#

Thank u for advice…appreciated

Good job Glyn.
I would say you’re more than ready to move on.
Onwards and upwards
