Of course. Here they are.
Ahh, and with English, I write and then ask my friend ChatGPT for an opinion. ![]()
Hello, thank you very much.
I can understand the tutorials. I say “challenge” because it involves playing guitar and trying to sing in English. I think I only saw a couple of songs in Spanish on the app.
Hey Carlos, nice to meet you, great to hear your story.
One thing that made a difference for me was to make guitar playing a daily habit. Every day, without fail. Every single day.
15 minutes was my initial goal and I couldn’t play for that long because my fingers hurt too much. So I did 5 minutes 3 times a day until my fingers toughened up.
Once I was able to play my first song all the way through, that was a real break through for me. Suddenly I wanted to practice instead of doing it for the sake of my goal.
The cool thing is the reward you get of being able to pick up your guitar any time and pull a tune out of your back pocket is amazing. It’s very much within your reach. Yeah, there is a bit of hard work / dedication to get there but believe me, it’s SO very worth it.
Look forward to hearing more from you.
Welcome !
Hang in there, it’s worth it (I hope).
Sweet! They’re all very nice guitars!

¡Hola Juan Carlos y bienvenidos!
30 years of trying to learn guitar? Pah! I spit on your 30 years…
I have been trying for almost 40 now!!!
Justin’s videos have helped lift me out of “Endless Beginner Syndrome”! I am consolidating Grade 2 while watching videos for Grade 3 & have finally started to make some real progress! The difference has been to break out of some bad habits & to play for at least a little bit every day! Every day, even if it’s just 5 minutes while the coffee’s brewing in the morning! I like to practice in the dark sometimes to force myself to mentally know my fretboard! The most important thing for me though is to always have fun! For years I’d get so frustrated with my lack of progress, I would quit for months or years… then I would have to go through the sore fingers phase again… arrrrrgh!!! Now, I just play some music & have fun… progress is slow, but measurable!
Good luck!!! ![]()

Hello Juan Carlos and welcome to our Community! English is not my mothertongue either, so I understand how the challenge is real…there’s no better way to learn languages than using them daily in our lives and it’s thus easy to find the Community to be a great place for personal growth in this respect too.
Do not hesitate to share and ask, we’re all here to learn from eachother ![]()
Thank you so much
Hello Juan Carlos.
Welcome to JustinGuitar and this fantastic community. Please take your time to look around and get to know the wider space. View by Categories.
We are a supportive and encouraging group of students and guitarists from across the world. Essentially, we are all here for music and to improve as players. We truly are a ‘community’. Members help and support one another and a friendly, positive attitude underpins this. We hope that all - young or old, experienced or new players - adopt and foster the pay-it-forward ethos that Justin personifies and embedded all those years ago when he started the website and forum.
Also, please make sure to read the Community Etiquette announcement for some important information and guidance.
If you want to record yourself to show your progress and / or seek feedback there is our ever popular Community Recordings section.
Behind the scenes there is a small and dedicated team who work to make the JustinGuitar experience as good as it can be. Check out the Onboarding sessions provided by Fanny.
Justin also has a small group of Approved Teachers he recommends for people wanting 1-to-1 lessons to supplement his courses - of which I am privileged to be one.
We also host regular (virtual) JustinGuitar Community Open Mic events for community members.
That is plenty to be going on with. It is a vast community space so if you need help as you find your way around just ask.
Cheers. Richard

Hi Juan Carlos, welcome to this great community.
My story is similar. I’m an engineer in my mid-50s. Thirty years+ ago, I learned a few open chords, and since then I’ve been strumming around on the guitar. For a year now, first with Simply Guitar and, since early 2025, with Justin, I have been trying to develop. Since I’m german, the language is also a big challenge, but deepl helps with that ![]()
Nice to have you here
It would be nice to hear from you soon, please. Greetings from Germany much fun and good vibes.
Cheers Withold
