A D.I.Y. plate reverb - I wonder how well this would scale?

I love plate reverb, it is my favorite type of non-character reverb.

I just came across this short series on building your own EMT 140 type plate reverb. Iā€™m not this crazy, I swear, but I wonder how well this would scale to a smaller unit. They are very simple machines and if you can get a proper sound from something half this size or smaller I might just be crazy enough for that. A 24" x 48" plate seem like a nice size.
