This is a song by Dionisis Savopoulos, legendary Greek singer and songwriter. The title (Μια Θάλασσα Μικρή) translates as A Small Sea. It’s a song about a love that lasted only a summer, but has left its hurt. It’s amazing, but I suppose not coincidental that so many song themes are cross cultural and cross generational.
beautiful ballad, very lovely played and sung!
James
Well played and well sung. I do not understand a word of Greek; despite that I heard a message of longing and mournfulness, quite sad yet consoling.

Really wonderful. Nice job. Singing and playing. A lovely sound.
Played and sung with great feeling and feel, James, that matched your description of the song.
Thanks to everyone for your kind words and encouragement!
James I have to say thank you, I can’t understand a word but still enjoy your singing and guitar playing, that my friend is what music is all about I guess cheers Hec
Thanks! Music is what links us all. I enjoy listening to songs from other languages. Our human voice touches all of us even when we can’t understand the words
What a lovely song James. Well played and sung.
Beautiful ballad James, very well played and nicely sung.
Very beautiful! Thank you for sharing the music of your country…I really hope to hear more from you!
James, I don’t know Greek and not familiar with the song, but I very much enjoyed your performance. Well done!
Well done! I love it. You are doing great! I am Greek and these poetic lyrics are magnificent.
Greetings from Kilkis, Greece!
Thanks! Ευχαριστω πολύ! Although born and raised in London Ontario, I’ve been living in Greece for most of my adult life. My parents had a lot of records and as a kid I would listen to a lot, I should say A LOT of Kazantzidis, Poli Panou, Voula Pala, Tolis Voskopoulos, Dionysis Savvopoulos plus an endless amount of demotic music. I grew up with Greek music. Mind you, I was also listening to a lot (AL LOT) of rock, from The Animals to ZZ Top, that’s A to Z! Greetings from Athens!
You have the best musical influences! Rock, laika, and dhmotika. Your “ears” are full of joy.
I wish you all the best! Keep on listening and playing great music.
