Hi ya all,
Love this song best Glen Campbell song of all time IMHO.
I hope you enjoy my efforts.
All feedback appreciated as always.
Cheers
Ron
Hadn’t thought of this song in ages, it is great, and also a master class in song writing. Really nice job with your version. Sounds great!
Thanks David for the encouraging feedback.
It is a great song for sure.
I remember how big this song was when it came out. My memory tells me I would have heard it on BBC 1 radio…or maybe Radio Caroline if it was still going.
Really good cover Ron…you should probably do By The Time I get To Pheonix now ![]()
That is a great song for sure. I just might. ![]()
Thank you John.
When I looked it up to remind myself how long ago it came out I saw it described as "the first existential country song”.

Very enjoyable version of a great song. Clever combinations of picking and strumming. Your vocal could maybe be a little higher in the mix.

Jimmy Webb’s Tunesmith is brilliant if you’re interested in songwriting.
Hi Ron,
Had to check this out as it’s one of Mrs D’s favourite songs of all time. Indeed - wants it at her funeral - somber on such a sunny day I know. ![]()
Sounds good to me - the one thing I’d say is it feels a little FX heavy - almost like a slightly trippy version. ![]()

Wow, that takes me back ![]()
Hi Stephen
Thanks you for feedback.
It is a weird thing but when I recorded it it didn’t sound so “trippy” (love that description) but when I listened back on YT it did.
I sort of liked it so I stayed with it. ![]()
Cheers

A very nice rendition of a classic. Thank you for sharing!
Very enjoyable, Ron. Performances like yours make me want to go back and listen to the originals and research the meanings of the stories; in which I did just do that. Good one all around.
Thank you ![]()
Thanks Pamela. Yes it is good to get the story behind a song. Gives it more meaning. ![]()
