Hey Community ![]()
After some team discussions, we want to share our thoughts on using AI in the JustinGuitar Community.
We understand that AI can be a great tool for inspiration and helping with your guitar learning. So, we welcome AI as a supportive part of your creative journey.
But the real magic comes from your fingers and your ideas! Our Community is here to celebrate your progress, creativity, and persistence—not fully AI-generated content. ![]()
Here are our simple AI guidelines for our Community:
AI Community Guidelines
1. We ask that you be upfront about AI use!
◦ Honesty keeps the Community informed and prevents misleading others! If AI plays a big part in what you’re sharing, we simply ask that you put a disclaimer in your text! It can be as simple as AI was used to help make this post.
2. Keep it as human as possible!
◦ This community is about your journey, your sound, and your growth. Purely AI-generated work doesn’t fit here because it sidesteps the hard-earned progress we’re all making!
3. Keep it respectful!
◦ AI is a hot topic, and people will have different opinions. That’s fine! Just keep the discussion respectful. If things get heated or uncomfortable, reach out to a moderator. ![]()
4. Please, no AI-bashing!
◦ Not everyone knows our AI policy yet! If you see a post that goes against it, don’t attack the poster, just let a moderator know. We’ll handle it. Let’s keep things positive!
Moderators will use these guidelines when reviewing posts and may edit or remove content that doesn’t align with our community’s goals. If you don’t like a post because AI was involved, you can just scroll past it! No need to call it out or bring negativity into the mix.
Let’s keep this community focused on making music, learning, and supporting each other. Play on & stay kind. ![]()
Cheers,
JustinGuitar Team
****** UPDATE JUNE 2026 : Our AI policy is currently under review.
We know AI is a divided topic, and people have different feelings about it. Some embrace it, some don’t, and others are still figuring out where they stand. That’s okay. We’re aware of the evolving discourse around it.
Like many digital organizations, the JustinGuitar team uses AI at our discretion as one of many tools to help us do our jobs. We’re a small team supporting a large community, and our mission has always been to make guitar learning accessible to everyone.
That includes providing over 1,500 lessons without a paywall and maintaining our Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced website courses free so that people have a fully free way to learn how to play guitar from scratch online.
As AI becomes increasingly integrated into everyday software, we won’t be adding disclaimers to every email, post, or message that may have involved AI in some way.
What we do ask from Community members is openness when sharing creative musical work that has been significantly assisted or generated by AI.
We want our Community to remain a place where people can learn and support one another with kindness and respect. Thank you.
