I recorded a tune like this to get some energy boost, as the song is fairly cheerful, I’d describe its character as pop bordering on smooth jazz. As usual, I started with a chord progression that appealed to me, then added some extra chords (in the left channel) and solo, chiefly improvised. I used my Line6 POD express as an amp/cab modeller and also as an excellent guitar interface.
As I’m going to hospital next week, I don’t know how long I won’t be browsing this forum, I hope not too long (and will be bereft of guitar playing, darn it! 
).
