Real real bad day today, Started well and then just went boom I am gutted.
ahh, yes. the dreaded bad day. Had that already this morning myself. I have been designing an amp. yesterday went together really well. Got up today before daylight and went to integrate the filter just before the final stage. disaster - this would sound like it was played through a tin horn if I built it like this. back to the design and see where I goofed.
Your project will be better after a good sleep! That often fixes my lumpy days.
Same here made my first brace and left it to set so decided to route my soundboard out, set the depth, got called on the phone returned started routing and I had not tightened the adjusting nut arghhh man
So here I am repairing a guitar that has not been built yet how does that work oo well back to the drawing board
sounds like a good project excuse the pun
I am famous in my family for ignoring my phone.
Your problem looks repairable without too much of it showing once you are done. Definitely an annoyance though!
yeah I am just annoyed at myself not to worry I think I will start to ignore my phone now
Week three-ish now and today I feel a bit happier I started with the x brace secured it to the solera and started transferring the radius to it, when finished this will pull the soundboard into shape another hour should have this done. I also finished routering the soundboard and began repairing the damage to be fair I think it will be ok I think I am happy
Ok, I am back on track I think.
A bit overboard with the pinning down but why not and yip that’s a TV in my garage
Hec
Pleased you’re making progress in what must be a long job.
I do have one question though: are you sure you’re not making a wicker basket?
I did some wicker weaving many years ago and your image(s) so reminded me of that stage of the process.
Brian
Haha hi Brian, yeah I know I had to retire and those rods are actually used for pulling cables in so they are not used anymore until I started this build they don’t put as much pressure on so I just doubled up on them they done the job, If I get this one finished I think that will be it for me so I tend to use anything that works for me cheers Hec
That’s a good approach Hec. I built my acoustic ten years ago. It’s a massive job and I swore I would never build another. I’ve still got a box full of fixtures and clamping cauls I made during the build. I also made a stack of spool clamps for gluing up the body. They’ve never been used again.
I so understand you there Chris, i am the same was the build worth it mate ?
I did think macramé but hec there’s an acoustic shaped thing loitering under all those strings !
