Haha when Indo zprojects I always end up writting a small journal of notes on each step my self preparation. Its got to be thorough. You dont often have time once you have started the process to stop and dig into it.

Hi Jason yeah mate you are right I started today and still things went a bit wrong I had to solve other probs anyway just a few photo’s so, a phew photos and maybe a little video lets try

So, a lot of fidgety work today, I did have a short video explaining what I had to do. It would save all these pics; however, you can see how I used carbon paper and writing paper to transfer the work. I hope it makes sense, cheers HEC

Today, I finally took the plunge and glued the neck to the soundboard, then ordered my wood for the back and sides, so hopefully, I should start to see it take shape

Interesting, the neck connection to the body and bracing at the end is verry different than what I have seen. Glad to see you back in the saddle with this build.

Concerning the neck joint, there were another two options, Mark, but the drawings I work from use this one, not so easy to remove, but I’ll not be doing it, thank god

And tonight I started on the mother of pearl, a nice, easy shape at first, just to get used to it. Already snapped one blade, but I’ll keep going. In fact, it’s a pleasing little job just sitting, taking my time, no stress,s just waiting for the wood delivery

I am finding this extremely difficult. Every time I approach it, I feel like I am going to mess it up, it is so worrying arghhhhh. think I will go back to cigar box guitars

I feel like you have been kicking some butt. You dont have to rip it all out in a month either.
Take a few days off, play some fun stuff, then come back. That helps me with my electronic effects projects.

So today I finally fitted the mother of pearl, and I didn’t enjoy it at all; however, it isn’t bad, certainly not perfect at all, but I think it will have to do for me, it is, or should I say, I found it very hard

I also had a delivery of American walnut for the back and sides today, so I am glad I got the inlay finished
It needs sanding and then varnishing, so we will see

Wow Hec! Shame on me that I haven’t followed your project from the beginning…now I just downscrolled and I was mesmerised by the pictures you posted, especially the real complexity of things! Now I can’t wait to see more! Bravo!

It’s been a while since I followed your project. It looks like you are making a lot of progress again. That is a wonderful grain in those matched pieces of walnut for the back. I’ve heard mahogoney, rosewood and koa and some of the other woods that Taylor uses, but I don’t think I have heard walnut, so interested.to hear the tone that you get out of that.
