Acoustic Johnny B Goode + some Muddy Waters

Here’s a couple of recordings I made a while back while doing BLIM but didn’t publish at the time…

My unusual interpretation of Chuck Berry’s “Johnny B Goode” …

A more traditional version of Muddy Water’s “Can’t Lose What You Ain’t Never Had” …

I listened to your versions with great pleasure. I love non-standard interpretations, there’s usually something creative to them, and yours is no exception. And the Muddy Waters’ song is an excellent example of blues playing, sparse but expressive at the same time.
Bravo! :+1: :guitar:

Fantastic Paul. Your version of Johnny B Goode makes me want to learn fingerstyle just to play it. Really brilliant.

Two really great cover songs. A very creative spin on JBG and a solid muddy water standard.

Good to hear these again Paul, love the JBG acoustic as its a lovely interpretation of the original and some cool picking. And the Muddy track was anything but muddy. Great vox and gtr for sure and a cool impro-ed solo.

One day we’ll get the album out but it kinda went pear shape.

Thanks Hec - appreciate the listen.

Cheers Phil!

Thanks Tomasz - I couldn’t ask for more!

Very kind John! I’m not sure which I prefer - they are very different!

Cheers Boris - You should certainly give fingerstyle a go - if nothing else it will help with hybrid picking on the electric!

Thanks James! Much appreciated.

Good to get them out there! #BBP #UTR

Wow Paul ,
:smiling_face_with_sunglasses:  :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:
Plus 12 for the video`s plus another 12 for the originality… 12 points for the singing because that means JBG works without all the well-known guitar riffs/solo… Oh, I’m already way over the points to be given away per country… Oh wait, luckily this isn’t the Eurovision Song Contest

Amazing :grinning_face_with_big_eyes:

Really nice Paul! Johnny B Goode was the same chords and the same lyrics, but really an entirely different song in your hands. I guess that’s music!

Both great. Thanks for sharing. I really especially liked Johnny B Goode. Always great when people do something in their own style

Hey Paul!!!
Very impressive!!! I really enjoyed both but particularly liked your version of JBG!!! A slower version on acoustic is really original… at least I’ve never heard anything like it before!!!

Also impressive is the video production… very well executed & enjoyable to watch for both videos!!!

Well done!!!

 thanks Rogier - you are very generous! Being British (well Welsh) I’m used to Nil Point.

Cheers Michael - I was certainly looking to do something different with it.

Thanks Ashu - I rarely use the 335 - perhaps I should get it out more often

Thanks Hans - Appreciate the listen!

Cheers Tosh - it was fun to re-interpret it!

Cheers Tod! I’ve not heard anything like it either, but I do quite like the way it turned out.
