Still in bed and afraid to get up after that :grimacing:

Well I trashed my index finger putting together the new redecorated home office so I cant guitar much, so pretty much that!

Office looks great tho!

Working on a very basic version of ā€œKnockin’on heaven’s doorā€ for tomorrow’s in person guitar lesson.

It’s going fine and finally I started to like playing with picks. Lots of ragweed in the air however against which I am apparently highly allergic. Meaning singing the song approx. as nasally as Mr. Zimmerman himself is not a problem at the moment.

So I guess my day is going fine :slightly_smiling_face:

  :joy:
I just rewatched that six times
Much better now, thank you

Same for me!! Can’t stop laughing!

Thanks Clint, it’s much better now.

Not bad, not bad at all… It’s now early afternoon here where I live, and most of the morning I played my HB JA-69 (a Jazzmaster clone), and found a lovely setting in my modeller/multieffect, reminding me of the best surf times… Therefore I’m now trying to render the full lead guitar line to one of the most beautiful instrumental tunes (IMHO), namely ā€œAtlantisā€ by Hank Marvin of The Shadows.

I’ve got similar ideas, same guitar but mine now has a Guyker trem system on it, it works really well for nice wobbles but not really for dive bombing things!
I can’t make my mind up between Theme for young lovers or Apache, never thought about Atlantis hmmmmm……
Anyway, this is what she looks like now!

Just the thing I needed this morning, I’m glad I’d finished drinking my coffee

An awesome setup, no question… I’m sure you can get any surf sound you want from it. There was something really special to the sound of bands like The Shadows or The Ventures.
I don’t know if you’ve heard ā€œAtlantisā€ played by Mark Knopfler (aaaah!); it can be found on YT. I joke that the two great guitarists decided to swap tunes, because Hank Marvin recorded the ā€œGoing Homeā€ theme

Yeah, it’s great for so many different styles. I saw a big potential in that guitar and have now spent more on it than it cost (I got it on a Black Friday B stock sale for Ā£99! It’s now got Roller string trees, Graphtec nut, a Roller bridge and the Guyker trem. I also replaced the output jack and the Pots / Caps, plus used shielding paint in all of the cavities and back of the pick guard, at the moment the pickups are standard but I might get some Irongear P90’s in the future.

The stock pickups in my JA-60 are something like the original JM pickups, not P-90s (my guitar is from the newer CC series, in Lake Placid blue, I love it), and I’m not going to replace them, but I have replaced the tuning machines with a set of original Fenders. Oh, BTW, I really like those vintage-type tuners with a slot and a string canal going down the string post…
