Angels fear to go

Angels fear to go

Hey, sorry I pop in here from time to time. I first learnt in 2019 off Justin guitar books. No musical experience prior to that. I enjoy making songs. This one is a slight dance/trance/ synth pop I guess.

Interested to hear feedback negative or positive. It’s just gone live today on Spotify, YouTube ect

Hi Ali @Maclovin1986 . I had a listen to the one you linked. After it had finished Spotify took me to “Show me Jesus” (which it would seem is also one of yours). I see you didn’t get any feedback on the linked song yet.

I thought the production of “Angels Fear to Go” was somewhat lacking compared to “Show me Jesus”. The stereo field didn’t sound quite right - though I can’t say for sure what I thought was wrong with it. It also sounded as though there was some overdriving or noise going on that was something undesired from the recording or production process, rather than a deliberate decision to overdrive (apologies if it was intended). The drums sounded like they may have been from a machine - I’m guessing I wouldn’t have noticed this if I hadn’t noted the other things and hadn’t been listening with a critical ear.

I wouldn’t normally be so critical, however “Show me Jesus” is a good song and I can’t fault the production. So you’ve shown you can write and record good songs and either produce them well or get them produced to a good standard.

Hopefully this is helpful to you for future songs.

Hey Simon, sorry for delayed response I’ve been away on holiday.

Thanks for listening to my track. Yes ‘Angels Fear To Go’ is unusual. Not sure if you have the right recording mind. There are two now - one remix and one more acoustic live on Spotify.

Yeah it’s been heavily engineered by my engineer too and effects. Which are interesting. The actual vocals were recorded well though and th voice sounded good from the start.

Thanks, im glad you like ‘Show me Jesus’

And thanks for your response
