I probably recorded this 8 years ago…, it was an experiment and I will probably re-record it with a friend doing the harmonies. After I did thisII found a version of Heaven’s Door and Helpless done by themselves Dylan and Young in 1975. Mine is a bit different…
Anyway, be forewarned. It’s flat and a bit out of time but the core of the demo is, to my ears, well worth working on. I keep surprising myself. I keep intending to post a few of these demos and then the more polished versions in the hopes it may help someone be less intense about their perfectionism. Because what a freaking trip to just let it all out.
Hey Pat this one passed me by as I don’t recall the original which surprises me, as you say it came out early 70s and I was still into Bob at that stage. So nothing to compare against but really liked what was going on with all the harmonies etc, nice clean playing as well. I certainly recommend a revisit, as I think you could take this to a higher place now. Its good as it is but I suspect after 8 years you could raise the bar for sure on this one. Off to find the OT
This was very nice indeed! Both the guitar and vocals…I enjoyed it a lot and found it perfect the way it is (refering to your perceiving it flat and a bit out of time).
