I just signed up for Tabs, but Iām having trouble figuring out how to use it. I had expected it would show me fingering for the chords in a song, like some guitar tab websites do; but āChordsā just lists chord names, like Cmaj7, Bm7, G6, D7#9, D7b9 (I donāt know any of those chords yet, so I need a diagram), while āTabsā shows the picking for individual notes (which will be great some day, but now, as a beginner, Iām doing well to strum chords ).
Is there a way to get chord fingering charts from Tabs and I just havenāt found it yet?
Justin has a chord library but does not cover all chords so you might have to look elsewhere. So for some of the exotic chords I tend to use Ultimate Guitar. If Justin has done a lesson on the song you want he will probably outline any unusual chords.
Hope that helps.
Michael
When I donāt know a chord, I just google it. You get a bunch of options, but pick to one in the area of the fretboard you need. Or one you feel you can play.
There are a zillion options, but the Oolimo website or app is also great for this and understanding chord options.
TAB doesnāt show chord fingering.
If you have landed on a song using the chords you list, and you donāt know the chords, then you can search out grips for them in conjunction with the fret numbers shown on the tab. You list some out-there chords ā¦ what is the song?

If you have subscribed to tabs - firstly thanks as your contribution supports the site ā¦
Also, the tabs are all associated with a video lesson in which Justin every chord grip. Have you watched the lesson through?
Thanks, @Cyril_fr! Iām giving those chord fingerings a try. Some of them sound great, others Iām having trouble with, but thatās normal for me.
@Jozsef : I definitely donāt have the necessary skills for Grade 5. Iām only at Grade 2 Module 11. But all along Iāve been trying to add some songs I like, even songs I suspect are too advanced. Sometimes it turns out I can play them (maybe with a few cheats), other times not, but it helps me know whatās coming up in later lessons, probably helps with finger stretching, and itās really motivating to tackle a song thatās too hard and find I can play at least some of it.
Also my husband (a lifelong guitarist) has been playing āBreatheā and told me āno problem, itās easyā, but I know not to trust that: he said the same thing about āStairway to Heavenā and itās definitely not easy at my stage (but Iām trying anyway, and making some progress).
