I’ve long been a user of Justin’s website and YouTube videos and was thinking of subscribing to the app for the Black Friday deal. But, I was thrown a bit because after I did the initial questionnaire about my skill level it then suggested as part of the “personalized learning plan” that I learn the Em chord.
I’m more of an intermediate learner—I am working on and can usually handle songs that are grade 4 and 5 on the website. I understand CAGED and can play the major and minor scales and major and minor pentatonic scales in five positions each. I am really looking to work on polishing my technique and, most important now, learning songs.
Is the app a good fit for me? It appeals that it seems to have a lot more songs than the website, but it also seems to be really focused on the first three grades of the Justin Guitar curriculum which might not be what I need most right now.
If you are looking for more premium intermediate content, you may look into those courses. Blues immersion is a game changer and the program only open 2 times per year; in a few days. It seems to align more with your goals.
