Hello Deborah, the technique to play that did not seem straightforward to me. You’ve done a great job, sounded brilliant.
Thanks for kicking off this event!

@Prof_Thunder @Willsie

lots of barre chords and slides, sometime both together XD
I am happy being able to play it in just 3 months

Well, we’re now at the difficult time for posting summer songs, as the bar has been set amazingly high!

Here’s my contribution - an original called Rey of Sunshine (about the wee dug called Rey in the background of the video, who gives me continual worries with health issues).

I shared a ‘full’ version on my learning log a couple of weeks ago…

This is an instrumental looper jam track from a few summers ago. Turns out I went fishing here last week. :slight_smile:

Well played, and love the palm muting :star_struck:

Thank you for this thread. It’s a really fun event for the community :smiley:
Sorry to hear the heat is still getting to you there, but very glad you could post a song.

It’s winter here and that campfire is looking very inviting. But it’s actually been maybe a good ten degrees warmer than usual for this time of year, so not too bad for the fingers playing. Hopefully that’s not an indication of the summer we’re in for here.

Great job Withold @witkatz I love this song! You played it really well. Great fingerpicking and love the harmonica!
Do you any trouble keeping your fingerpicks on and not slipping around on your fingers?

Thank you Jeff! It is a great song to learn/practice palm muting. You should definitely play it, your LP is perfect for this.

Thanks Jasmine. I love this song, too, but my family doesn’t like it, so I had to stop recording very early, and the result isn’t as good as I’d hoped.

Alaska picks are placed under your fingernails and fit very tightly around the fingertips. So you have to let your fingernails grow on your playing fingers first; then nothing will slip. If you file down the sharp edges at the corners of the new picks, they’re actually quite comfortable once you get used to them.

Deborah all the work you put on learning this is paying off and shines through. You know I don’t play the electric guitar and these kind of lead/accompainement parts of songs but found your playing very good and the overall result very enjoyable to listen to. Brava! :clap::clap::clap:

Great job @witkatz ! Really enjoyable! :grinning_face_with_big_eyes:
