Hello Deborah, the technique to play that did not seem straightforward to me. Youâve done a great job, sounded brilliant.
Thanks for kicking off this event!
Hey, @oldhead49. Wonderful to hear from you again and good job on your Summertime song. Very enjoyable to listen to.

Yeah it wasnt easy because its the first song I play that is not in open chords ^^â
its very different and fun to play !
lots of barre chords and slides, sometime both together XD
I am happy being able to play it in just 3 months
@Boris1565 awesome !
it sounds almost like the original ! ![]()
So many videos already !!!
Im real glad you all enjoy this topic ^^
Accidentally I just played Here Comes The Sun at a small local festival.
Well, weâre now at the difficult time for posting summer songs, as the bar has been set amazingly high!
Hereâs my contribution - an original called Rey of Sunshine (about the wee dug called Rey in the background of the video, who gives me continual worries with health issues).
I shared a âfullâ version on my learning log a couple of weeks agoâŚ

Great job Boris. Iâve been wanting to play this one for a while now
This is an instrumental looper jam track from a few summers ago. Turns out I went fishing here last week. ![]()
That was so groovy Deborah! ![]()
Well played, and love the palm muting ![]()
Thank you for this thread. Itâs a really fun event for the community ![]()
Sorry to hear the heat is still getting to you there, but very glad you could post a song.
Itâs winter here and that campfire is looking very inviting. But itâs actually been maybe a good ten degrees warmer than usual for this time of year, so not too bad for the fingers playing. Hopefully thatâs not an indication of the summer weâre in for here.
Great job Withold @witkatz I love this song! You played it really well. Great fingerpicking and love the harmonica!
Do you any trouble keeping your fingerpicks on and not slipping around on your fingers?
Thank you Jeff! It is a great song to learn/practice palm muting. You should definitely play it, your LP is perfect for this.
Thanks Jasmine. I love this song, too, but my family doesnât like it, so I had to stop recording very early, and the result isnât as good as Iâd hoped.
Alaska picks are placed under your fingernails and fit very tightly around the fingertips. So you have to let your fingernails grow on your playing fingers first; then nothing will slip. If you file down the sharp edges at the corners of the new picks, theyâre actually quite comfortable once you get used to them.
Wow! Dave @oldhead49 that was so great, very smooth!
so well played and sung, great voice and tone, very enjoyable listen ![]()
I really enjoyed your track too @Boris1565 Boris, I love the song and it sounded great! You make it look rather effortless too ![]()

Thank you Jasmine for the kind words. ![]()
Deborah all the work you put on learning this is paying off and shines through. You know I donât play the electric guitar and these kind of lead/accompainement parts of songs but found your playing very good and the overall result very enjoyable to listen to. Brava! ![]()
