Hi, I am currently doing Justin’s Blues Immersion Course and accidently posted something in the this forum. I received such nice and positive feedback, I thought I would like to engage more with this community. I have had a guitar in my life for >45yrs, off and on. But been playing seriously for about 10-15 years. Until now all self taught via books and the internet. Last year I started in-person lessons for the first time. Been looking at Justin since before he was wearing a hat when he was still sitting cross legged on the floor. This piece I have been playing for many years to train my fingers for fingerstyle. I still really love playing it.
Hi Matthijs ,
That was great
Good to see that you have been playing for a while…
I was wondering what happened to your first video here just now…but I understand that it is back in the Blim 2 class. … welcome again here to the big house
Greetings ,Rogier
Hi @roger_holland, I think so. TBH, I’m not entirely sure of the different areas but I posted the first one in BLIM and it ended up here and then I asked for it to be for BLIM as I recorded it for that material. Anyway…whatever. In intend to re-record Love In Vain as I mucked up the sound in post-production which is why it was so quiet. Great to be in the Big House now. I have a few other things I have been working on which I will post over the next few week. Including my take on Fast Car which I learnt off Justin’s first video many years agos but really like his new lesson. Thank you for welcoming me into this group.
Some super fingerstyle on display there Matty and I loved the contrast when you broke in to the strumming part.
Well done.
That was a great listen Matty, and fun to watch your accomplished finger picking. And there’s nothing like waking up (4 a.m. here), pouring some coffee and listening to some Zeppelin!
Well done Matty i am just starting finger picking so it is good to see what practice can have you playing like cheers Hec
So good! I really liked it and listened to it twice already. It’s one of my fav Zep songs.
That’s pretty decent, a few inconsistencies in the dynamics but not anything that can’t be fixed. It’s a song I like too, maybe some time in the future I might try it!
Absolutely love this song since I was a very young kid- when I hear it being played it just takes me back there- you fingering style is lovely thank you
That was beautiful Matthijs.
Very enjoyable, Matty & nice to meet you. I love the Fingerstyle songs lately (since that is where I’m at in my own practicing routine); & then you broke out in some aggressive strumming. Wow, if I tried it like that, I would lose a thumbnail, LOL! Anyway, good job. I look forward to more from you.
