Barncaster test

This has to be the weirdest first post ever? The guitar is made out of a lump of 2x4 and parts from Ali express, cost about £80. Not finished yet I bodged it together so I could play it.

Anyway, reason I posted. Firstly I’m curious as to what level intermediate I’m at as I look at lessons claiming to be for that level and they are either way too easy or utterly impossible…

Also I need encouragement to actually practice not just play. Are there groups on here?

Cheers all.

Especially as it’s one of those invisible/inaudible guitars!

You can upload pics directly to your post. If you want to share audio/video you need to share it via a link (e.g. YouTube/Soundcloud/GoogleDrive etc.)

Why not start at the beginning? You’ll fly through much of the stuff, but won’t ever find yourself doing a lesson where something is ā€˜utterly impossible’ :grinning_face_with_big_eyes:
You can then label yourself (if you really want to )

Lol. I didn’t realise thatšŸ˜‚. Thanks for letting me know.

My issue with learning is lessons seem to go from ā€œput your fingers here for a D chordā€ to "This is how to play a minor 7th demented arpeggio. I have difficulty finding lessons at whatever level of intermediate I’m at.

I would love to see a picture of your creation, cheers Hec

Hehe, I rarely do lessons anymore, and mainly loiter around here, making a nuisance of myself
I find that in many lessons (esp. later ones), Justin teaches how to play a basic version of the song, and then towards the end, adds in some ā€˜fancy stuff’ for more advanced players.
I’m a meat & potatoes guy and don’t ā€˜want to make it cry or sing’
