That happens to me too, sometimes I can go even longer without playing, though not always by design. But when I pick up the guitars again, it all comes back fairly quickly and it makes me wonder why I didn’t play all that time.
@jkahn not happy with the guitar situation at all. I’ve had to change my priorities around this year, so guitar and involvement here had to move down the list. I’ll reclaim some of the time I’ve given to other things next year, so hopefully will regain the ground I’ve lost and then keep learning and improving.
@liaty there will always be a butterfly to chase
@pkboo3 I’d love to hear YOU, missed your beautiful voice.
whaaaaa, you’ve gone all politically correct?
@Jozsef I’m so glad it all comes back to you easily. I get overwhelmed by what I want to reclaim.
Hi Maggie,
How nice to hear from you again with some more words… .
It’s great that you are so busy with music, that’s very important, although of course I don’t like to read that you would like to spend much more time with your guitar, … I’m sure you’ll get that balance again, …and when in doubt or need help I send some extra good wishes and vibes your way. …
And, just stop chasing those butterflies or encouraging to do people , …those critters are extremely vulnerable and get damaged if you catch them with your hands
Some call them " airborn worms " …
Dear greetings,Rogier
Can relate…
That’s awesome. Glad to hear you’re continuing to progress as a musician, even if guitar hasn’t been the recent focus.
Adieu 2022.
Hola 2023.
So much goi g on, so much to do, so little time.
You’re being far too hard on yourself Maggie. Creating a video every week to be discussed by a tutor sounds like a pretty full music timetable to me!
I predict you’ll get your guitar mojo back in 2023.
@roger_holland what a treasure you are Rogier. Thankyou for your encouragement a good vibes. I have a way of rescuing the critters that come inside, butterflies included, that does them no harm. Here’s one of my visitors, a Blue Tongue Lizard, one of the skink family. They breed in my garden. I love them. Isn’t she beautiful, so glossy and well fed. She was on her way into the music room. When I picked her up to take her outside she didn’t even hiss and certainly didn’t attempt to bite me.
I do hope your music is bringing you joy.
@J.W.C it’s not a great feeling Jason is it? Sometimes, that’s how it has to be. In my case, I spent the first 8 months of 2022 caring for and supporting my 97yo mother during her end of life process. She died in August. The demand on my time (given willingly and lovingly) left me drained physically, emotionally and mentally.
@Richard_close2u yeah, sorting out some different priorities for 2023. I do hope it’s and excellent year for you.
@sairfingers I love your prediction, thankyou for that. I guess I have to acknowledge what I’ve achieved. I wish you a magnificent year of music.
I remember our conversations well, you also belong to that rare group of people who let spiders sit (or bring them outside if necessary) step over ants and protect snails,…all the bigger stuff is then obviously completely safe in your good hands, …I also remember this picture very well (showed it to my mother last month, together with Brian’s and his pink wigsong ) and I always get a great feeling about it when i think of your garden/home animals, ,…I also look forward to some new pictures in 2023 …
I still play a least 1 hour a day every day,but
that is on bad or very busy days (that’s actually the same )
Thanks,…
Hi Maggie, 2022 sounds like it has been a remarkable year for singing. You guitar playing never regressed it just went into hibernation as you dealt with everything else on your plate. 2023 looks like it’s going to be a wonderful year for you as you finish off those projects with your ever improving vocals and guitar playing.
@roger_holland that’s so good to know you’re playing for at least an hour a day. I hope the busy is as bad as it gets. You’ve had more than your share of bad.
@Socio thankyou James so very much for your good wishes and predictions for 2023. I made a start on one of the unfinished projects yesterday, ironically, If It Make You Happy Playing in sync with a click has definitely gone into hibernation
I do hope it’s a year of great joy for you
Maggie, sorry about the passing of your mother.
@dobleA thankyou Andrés The week before Christmas Day and the day itself felt weird and strange. Happy New Year to you
Very sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. I can understand, that caring for her surely was a precious time to have together, but also burned a lot of energy. Hope that you will find your way back to guitar soon. Wish you all the best for the future!
@Helen0609 thankyou for your kind thoughts. I’m spending time with my guitar every day, so hopefully I’ll see progress. Wishing you every joy inn 2023
