Tx Lee for another great workshop. The last 3 clubs have been very stretching, but I thought Paradise City was (unexpectantly as I thought it would be impossible) an excellent workshop. Unfortunately I just couldn’t get to grips with Sweet Home Alabama. And I thought MfN was going that way too at first. However the 2nd and 3rd so called harder versions just clicked (explain that!). Mind it helped when I put my glasses on to see the tabs, lol. Tx again.

Thanks Lee -

You “Knocked it out of the Park” yesterday with MFN. Wished there was a way of getting the tabs prior to the class - I know that you send them out to those who are signed on to Whats App, but unfortunately cannot sign on to that due to security issues. Since you send out an email to all attending the class the day before each class, wondering if you could add the TAB/Notes to the email?
In the mean time can you please email the MFN Notes/TABs or include them on the Beginner Club Community for Beginner Club # 30 when you get a chance? Thanks.

Hey guys, I’m glad you’re enjoying the Club. Here are the materials

I’ll make sure to send them to Fann really early before the next Club. She’ll then attach them to the email that goes out just before the Club is streamed

Morning.

I attended the Money for Nothing lesson on Thursday. It was my first one. It was challenging but I really enjoyed it. Need the PDF to attempt to play the riff. I just can’t remember the notes from the video.

Is the PDF available anywhere and are the PDFs for the other lessons also downloadable? If so can someone point me in the right direction.

Thank you.

Chris

I pulled this up to give it a try. I’m a bit beyond a beginner but never learned the song. Good lesson but I am struggling a bit with the timing of measures 4 & 8. Is it:

  1. Quarter / Half / Eighth / Eighth, or
  2. Half / Quarter / Eighth / Eighth

The other thing that might be handy is if the YT description for the recording had time markers for the start points of the Level 1 / 2 / 3 portions of the lesson. Bonus for also having markers for the full play-through at the end of each level.

Thanks.

The first 2 notes in the tab have a dot above the note which means the note is cut short, they don’t really have a timing. The demonstration of that bar is at 20:40 in the video. It’s really a case of feeling the groove rather than the count.

Lee, watched the recording last weekend and really enjoyed it. But, I was hoping the entire time that at some point you would mention what effects you were using to replicate the Knopfler’s tone. Any chance you could give us an idea of the effects, settings and order of the chain. Thanks in advance. Love the lessons.

This article might help you out, Chris:

Hey David, the rhythms are connected to the tablature (the numbers themselves):ok_hand:

Also, because the video is streamed and automatically uploaded right after, it makes it really difficult regarding chapters. I get your point though, it would be a great feature. I’ll raise it with the team :ok_hand:

Honestly, there wasn’t anything fancy going on. My guitar went straight into an ODR-1 style overdrive on a medium overdrive setting, into my Strymon Iridium on a Fender setting with the middle maxed. And the tone control on my guitar rolled all the way off off. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

It should be possible to go back afterwards and update the description with it list of “chapters” and looks to their start points.

EDIT: In truth, anyone could also put the same information into a comment on a video.

Thanks Lee, was my first (on catch up). tab you have posted really useful. are you able to add for any of laast few you have done. you made it enjoyable which is great . an hour flew by
thanks so much
