I’m a beginner. I play a 12-string acoustic guitar. I try to play Andy McKee’s “Drifting”. At the chorus part, 2:51,
https://youtu.be/eXM5VJELp9k?t=172, he plays A major chord. I’m trying to play this chord during whole week. I injured my index finger, middle finger tip, thumb, wrist. I try to take a break when I have pain. I still can’t play the chord. My fingers are too weak and I still have pains. What can you suggest to me?
Thank you in advance.

The chord formations and the playing ‘technique’ shown in the video you’ve linked to are way beyond beginner level. My strong recommendation would be to work through Justin’s lessons from Grade 1, Module 1, Good luck and enjoy yourself!

Beejay’s advice is absolutely the way to go. Don’t try to run before you can walk. Also, you’re not making it easier by learning on a 12 string. If you can afford it, consider getting a 6 string, and look at putting light strings on it. This will be much kinder on your fingers and allow you to build up strength.
