I’m working on this song and I’m finding that when playing along to the original recording there is a clash. Is it in standard tuning as everything sounds slightly off ?

Thanks

Hi Victoria and welcome to the Community,

BBE is in standard tuning. Which part do you think sounds off ? I covered this a last year and didn’t feel that way when I played alongside the OT. Cover is just me and the LP. 8 2 Madman’s Diaries – The Who Behind Blue Eyes Performance Only Chapter 8 September 2021 - YouTube

Why not pop over here and introduce yourself.

In case this is helpful to anybody, I mapped out the intro picking into tab as such:

e|-----------------|-0---------------|-----------------|-------0---------|
B|-----------0-----|---0-----0---0---|-------0---------|---------0-------|
G|-------2-----2---|-----2-----2-----|-----2---2-------|-----2-----2-----|
D|-----2---------2-|-------2-------2-|---2-------2---2-|---2---------2---|
A|---0-------------|-----------------|-0-----------0---|-0-------------0-|
E|-0---------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|

Comments and feedback welcome! Not sure why it italicized everything. I put it into the “Preformatted text” to keep the spacing.

Been on a “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” kick, and I came across the episode where Giles plays this at the Espresso Pump, and I was like, hey, that song doesn’t sound that hard!

And yeah, it sounds fine in standard tuning to me as well.
