Reminds me a bit of some of Philip Glass’s compositions…

Cool. This reminded me of the Shepard Tone, which is a seemingly ever-rising pitch, but actually, it’s not changing at all. I suspect both illusions are based on the same idea.

Interesting. Reading the description of this phenomenon before hearing it may have diminished its effect on me, though :smiley: To me it felt like certain parts played smaller subdivisions from time to time, then settled back to the original time.

As far as sonic gimmicks are concerned, it made me think of this:
