Oooo I would have loved to be thereā¦
Also with ā¦More big names will be in action during the benefit concert in Birmingham, such as
Metallica, Pantera, Slayer, Gojira and Anthrax. Guitarist Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine is also present. He promises it will be the ābiggest heavy metal show everā.
I wonder if things will work out oke with Ozzy himselfā¦but it will certainly be a special dayā¦
Was a bit gutted to hear this yesterday, as I was at their (supposedly) final ever gig at Birmingham on āThe Endā tour - 4th Feb 2017.
Inevitable really that they would be performing again at some point, and obviously having Bill Ward involved this time around is the āsweetenerā for the fans. I also expect this latest āFINAL EVERā date also wonāt end up being their last eitherā¦
I wonāt be looking to go to this one. It was āokā last time but thereās far better bands out there these day for a lot less money.
Hi Pete,
Ha ha, have you been paying attention for the last 60 years when going then (?)⦠even if the only really important person from a band (who is theband) is dead, that doesnāt say anything about if they played the last time
But what I often see as raking in money for themselves, I always think is something different when it is a benefit concert, and in this case you will get a lot more bands and Artists then only Ozzy and his band ā¦
A kind of Monsters Of Rock + ⦠maybe I see them too in the past (blank Sabbath) (it must be) I have been to many in the past, I just canāt find those tickets that I have seen (and my memory was apparently a bit foggy at the time )
I fully understand how these things work unfortunately!
I think that with Sharon being involved thereāll be plenty more opportunities to make future dollar for the Sabbath name, no matter what condition Ozzy is in (alive or not )
Iām not a massive fan of festival/benefit concerts, even though I used to be able to hear the speakers from Monsters of Rock / Download from my parents house!
I saw Sabbath maybe about 10 years ago. I was quite concerned before the show that Ozzy would be well beyond his best and that Iād be seeing a second rate performance from a has-been. As it was, the show was excellent and none of my fears were realised. I decided though that I was quitting while I was ahead with regards to seeing Sabbath live.
I so wish I could be there, but with airfare from the states being well over $1000 it simply isnāt possible. It would be amazing to see the four of them together for the last show, even if Ozzy is sitting and not able to stand. This is something he needs to do for himself and his fans ! Itāll be an awesome show !!!
