Hi David
I enrolled as well and also have started on Unit 0, and noticed the same. I have had a couple of emails with Fanny to sort out a payment issue, and asked when BLIM 3 Community area.
She said :- *"Yes, there will be! A Community space and 2 WhatsApp groups.
*
We’re setting those up right now and will send an email communication when it’s live! "
We get free access to ‘Practical Music Theory’ initially I could only access Grade 1 & 2 for free after enrolling on it, but took a look this morning and all are now available me. I need to refresh my brain on the theory.
Having built a few websites I am not sure but it looks like JustinGuitar.com is built using Wordpress or a similar tool. If it’s Wordpress they can control access to specific areas by individual logon ID’s so the admin will have to give access to certain areas to everyone as they sign up to BLIM 3. Some of it may be automated but that can be a tricky thing to do, as I found out when creating a Car Club site.
I did my ‘Record Yourself Now’ yesterday, which took some time to set up and experiment with. I used GarageBand(DAW), PositiveGrid - RIFF (a great guitar to USB interface IMO - See RIFF here well worth looking into if you need such a device and not expensive) and I simultaneously recorded video on my Mac using PhotoBooth.
Not sure if others have posted stuff about this, but this may help:-
You can import the backing track and video into GarageBand as a tracks and record the guitar onto another track. When you record in Garage band the backing track will play to the output selected and you play along.
You start the video recording first then goto GarageBand and start recording, and stop both when at the end of the backing track. You may need to trim the start of the video clip first and then import it into GarageBand. You now need to sync the Video sound to the recorded guitar track(not hard), once done you switch off the Video sound and then create a new video from GarageBand. By doing this you will get a good level of sound quality. It sounds complex:rofl: but once you’ve got it then it is quite easy.
I used to work for Apple in a Tech. Support role and also used Windows kit many moons ago (which I hate). If someone needs some simple guidance let me know and I will try and help.
I will be brave and post my recording for feedback once all is live for BLIM3, and hide in the corner waiting for feedback.
