I’m working on a boogie woogie piece, slowly. I know boogie woogie is typically place pretty fast, but what is a reasonably good speed to work up to?

I would suggest putting on a boogie woogie song that you like and figure out its tempo with a bpm calculator. You tap along with the song and the bpm is calculated for you. For example this song:
seems to be around 170-175 bpm. Pretty quick!
