Canzone d'Amore - Classical Guitar

Really beautifully played Sylvia. What a lovely piece, I thoroughly enjoyed that. You really have found your guitar niche with your choice of music.
Bellissimo. :grinning_face_with_big_eyes:

It’s a pleasure to watch your growing as a musician, Silvia. Smooth, soft, elegant and full of emotion, wonderful playing, beautiful song choice. Your fingers are moving so precisely and the flow was really fine. I enjoyed the light touch. You really made huge progress. Our Silvia is learning to fly… :butterfly:!

Hello Silvia,

I really wanted to hear and see this, but video is not available. I am pretty sure you are working on that. I am turning on magical bell, so when there is update I will be noticed.

Beautiful, Silvia! I see others commenting on your impressive movement all over the fretboard and how relaxed you look. I will add to that perfect posture and presentation. I am truly impressed.

Thank you Rick for listening and commenting, I much appreciate it!

Yes, really gradually. That’s not easy. What the pros do in those few passages is adding some decrescendo right before the fingers move to the higher frets, which makes the changes sound musical and graceful, I just tried to imitate that. They also apply vibrato in those passages, but I haven’t practiced that technique yet…later on in the journey I’ll learn and add it too!

I think I’m cheating a bit here and when I can’t reach my notes with my fingers I adjust with the wrist and the forearm; this is also something the pros do, only observing my video I’m maybe doing it too much…something I definetely need to refine. I just got a bit crazy at all those crazy fingergym exercises.

:joy: yes I guess it does dear Rogier! You always make me smile when you write BIS BIS BIS :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

And interestingly she’s not German, as I wrote, but British and based in Germany.

Rogier, James, thanks for your very kind comments!

Ehmm…that with ease needs still just a bit of consolidation :joy::sweat_smile:
Thank you Toby, I much appreciated your comment!

I do agree, but…

and nevertheless it was still very fast for my brain to be able to decode it and being able to play it at this speed! So I had to wonder about speed, push on myself and kick a bit my neurons in the butt to make them connect faster :see_no_evil_monkey::sweat_smile:

That’s what matters! Thank you so much!

This is so kind of you Jason! Thank you!

And I was wrong, the composer is actually British, but based in Germany…and I don’t think I know much more than you do :joy:

Hi Kevin and thank you for listening and for your feedback!

I checked the video and found out what I already knew: my alternated picking is fairly consistent throughout the piece and I repeat fingers only in three passages (which I expected as the fretting hand there requires effort) - except for thumb which repeats itself on the bass strings. This said I’m aware my fingerpicking technique still requires much refinement in order to get a better sound. This is also a piece where vibrato is required but I 'm not applying it because I haven’t learnt the technique yet. One thing at the time. I’m very skills-oriented in my practice and there are still many fundamental skills I still need to consolidate before adding new techniques and be also able to refine my playing.

Very nice Silvia - I enjoyed listening to this over my morning coffee  and now I have another nice song to add to my classical guitar playlist! Your hard work is really paying off in tone, technique and musicality!
