So here’s my this month proposal of an original song, one of the oldest ones I’ve ever written; this is, of course, a newly recorded version.
And now - something unusual for my playing style. As you know, I’m still testing my new Les Paul Studio, so I recorded a pretty standard blues BT in G, then improvised on my LP through an OD channel.
The ‘Test’ piece works better than the first one: it has more direction and shape to it. ‘Charm’ is well played: however there’s no obvious form, no hook, no melody, to the piece. As ever, enjoyed listening.
As I am concerned Charm better fits my personal preferences. I love this mood, that is this kind of music I could listen to the whole day. Blues is also OK, it’s nice to hear you playing something different than clean sound. If it only were in minor key…
@JackPK@DavidP : Many thanks, guys! You’ve just saved my day
Oh, David, btw, could you please tag this topic, even though it’s not very popular? Thanks.
same here!
I don’t mind an unusual song form and like your first a lot - maybe how much you like one more or less can also depend on your mood… at least for me it’s this way.
Hi Tomasz, both sounded great to me too, just in a different sense.
Charm has a relaxed vibe, there might be no classical structure, but the mood of it for me is underlined by giving the piece room for meandering, just like a stream. It’s very nicely played and sounds so relaxing. Could be a great background melody.
The blues also sounded great, nice tone btw on the guitar, really pleasing!
Thanks for sharing!
