Hi folks … great that Justin is hosting this guitar community … I’ve been following him for quite some time and have been impressed by his playing, teaching chops and all around humanity. He’s certainly one of the top on-line instructors … anyone interested in learning guitar would do well to hook up with him … or just join his on-line community. I’ve been playing guitar for a while … was in a rock band back in the 70’s, kind of quit playing through the 80’s and 90’s. Picked it up again in 1999 and have been playing ever since. Went through a couple of bands and now, in my dotage, I’m just a one-guy act and haunt open mics where ever I can find them … playing various stuff … mostly Americana with a smidgen of rock’n’roll. I find lot’s of tid-bits and cool things in Justin’s lessons to help me grow (yep, still consider that I’m growing … in fact, I have a long way to go. Learning guitar is a life-time endeavor … there really is no end, which makes it so cool). Anyway, kudos to Justin, his teachers and on-line army … together, we’ll make the world a better place!
Welcome Chris! It’s great to hear someone with your background still learning. And it sounds as if we’re fortunate to have you join us! Hope to see you around.
Hi Chris,
Welcome here and I wish you a lot of fun
Greetings,Rogier
Welcome to the forum Chris
Welcome, Chris. Do you even play up in the Alpena area?
No, I’m more on the west side of the state … during the summer that is … in the winter look for me down south!
Hi Chris & Welcome!
Hope to see you around the Community!

Hi Chris nice to see you joined the JG community cheers Hec
Hey Chris, welcome to the community. Sounds like you’ve lived the dream compared to many of us bedroom guitar players. Look forward to hearing more from you. I agree, I’ve been playing for over ten years now and yet learn heaps of new things from Justin.
Welcome Chris,
Lots of great experience to share thanks

Highly recommend seeking out an open mic … they are great places to learn and gain confidence as they are usually very welcoming to everyone.
Indeed. I’ve done over 110 of them now and they really added to my abilities as a musician. Moments of fear and anxiety which pale into distant memories when you work at it.
Hi Chris, welcome to the community forum. Your renewed love affair with guitar in 1999 resonates with me, as I discovered SRV, the world of blues and electric guitar in 1999, which brought me out of stagnation as a singer-strummer and is the reason for my JG community user name. Now in retirement I can pursue all styles of guitar. Have fun as you continue to grow and learn and hopefully share some of your years of guitar experience.
Hello Chris.
Welcome to JustinGuitar and this fantastic community. Please take your time to look around and get to know the wider space.

We are a supportive and encouraging group of students and guitarists from across the world. Essentially, we are all here for music and to improve as players. We truly are a ‘community’. Members help and support one another and a friendly, positive attitude underpins this. We hope that all - young or old, experienced or new players - adopt and foster the pay-it-forward ethos that Justin personifies and embedded all those years ago when he started the website and forum.
Also, please make sure to read the community etiquette announcement for some important information and guidance.
