Hi
What level is Justin’s Christmas song book aimed at?
I guess minimum level.
Thanks
Hi Peter,
I have this book. I’d say it’s good for a Grade 2 person, though there are some songs that someone finishing up Grade 1 could probably play just fine. From the into to the book:
I’ve divided this book into three sections: the first section contains songs that an intermediate-level guitar player should be able to ‘Play On The Day’ by reading straight from the book. Many advancing beginners will find they can do this too – these songs are mostly easy and fun. The ‘Learn in December’ section is made up of songs that I suspect most people buying this book could learn to play quite quickly, but it may mean checking out a few things in advance of a performance. The ‘Learn in November’ songs take a little bit of work to perfect. Look at these ones well in advance of a performance as you will probably need to practice them over a few weeks.
So for example, Deck the Halls is a “Play on the Day” song, using D, A, E and G with a very simple strumming pattern. I learned Jingle Bell Rock from the “Learn in December” section last year…I was very happy that I started in EARLY December! ![]()
Thanks will order a copy.
I have the two beginners books. They are an order of magnitude better than other song books I have.
Copy arrived. Looks good so far
Playing walking in the air finger style but cheating by playing only four notes to the bar ![]()
