Collaborator Wanted -- Wild Horses in Open G

Hi!! Looking for someone who would be interested in developing a two (or more) guitar approach to covering Wild Horses by the Rolling Stones. Justin has a lesson on it here: WILD HORSES OPEN G

Would like to try to layer multiple guitars together; meaning an acoustic with various electrics guitar tracks and the vocal.

Want to try to explore the whole guitar “weaving” concept used by Mick Taylor and Keef Richards on this track, without obsessively copying what they did (which would be almost impossible, IMHO).

I am happy to play acoustic and sing the lyric as well as an electric part; but, I confess, I am just getting started on electric at the moment.

Hoping someone wants to try this out!! :grinning:

Hey Jeremy - Love this song although I’ve never got round to learning to play it. I’d be up for this if you don’t get any better offers! I’m out of the travelling until the middle of next week though.

Paul - thanks for the interest. Sounds great and would love to have you as a collaborator!! I am in NO hurry.

I play a standard tuned version of this on solo acoustic. Maybe between now and the time you’re back I’ll record it and send it along (via DM) so you get a sense of the vocal.

I am not married to the particular version Justin presents in his lesson either. I would like to try to just “have a go” (or several goes )and see what comes of it.

Let’s see if anyone else has an interest. I think we’d need to keep this collab at about 3 people, MAYBE 4 max just for sanity’s sake. . .

Hi Jeremy, I’d be up for giving it a go too.
But the version I play is in standard tuning too. I’d be happy to learn the open G though. Watching Justin’s video, it looks like something I could get.
Be forwarded though, I ain’t collaborated with anyone in over a year. Who knows what I’ve forgot as to how to collaborate (+ i’ve only collabed with one other person, so who knows what I do or don’t know about collaborating). But I sure do want to do some more collaborating though and for sure I dig this song.
Your choice as to if ya want elec. or acoustic. I’d do either/or. When I do it myself, I do acoustic if I’m on the back stoop. When inside I generally do electric with some reverb and tremolo added. If ya don’t like that vibe, I can do whatever ya think is proper.

Hey Jim! Thanks for the interest!! It’s a great song. Be happy to have you on board with us. I’ll send you a couple starter things via private messsage. We can go from there.

Have fun, guys, and don’t forget to share the results

Cheers Brian! Don’t look for anything from us til next year at the earliest!!

Sounds like fun! May I suggest (if Justin doesn’t already suggest it in the video) that one of the guitars use Nashville tuning?

Cheers Clint, that sounds like a cool idea. We’ll look at that.

Might be worth a look

Step 1: Magically acquire Mick Taylor’s sense of melody. . .
Step 2: Do it on guitar. . .
Step 3: “Invent” a new way of playing with another guitarist. . .

Should be a piece o piss this. . .   :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Cheers Madman!!
