Combining Pentatonics Exercise - Guthrie Govan

Have been trying to learn this piece as an exercise for a while, recently started being able to play at full bpm without too many mistakes, which this playthrough certainly does have. But decided to start recording myself so I can properly look back and see places to improve.

Any feedback appreciated

Well played: most of the runs are neat, lively and dynamic with some very good bends; apart from one slightly clumsy phrase @ c. 1:00 this is a great performance.

Well done!!

I see it’s a couple of years since you’ve posted, Manvender.
I’d like to see more of you than that. The recording was great! Loved it. If there were flaws I didn’t notice them because you sounded so good.

Very impressive. Not quite at 100% accuracy, but given the difficulty level, its an excellent effort. I second @Willsie 's comment, I’d love to see/hear more!

Sounds awesome! Your bending and vibrato sounds spot-on. Tiny timing slips around the 55s mark (in an extremely fast section of the piece), but from your comment I’m sure you knew that anyway. Great playing - I agree with the others that it would be nice to hear more from you.

Very nice sections there man. Well played.

The only thing I can see is you are ahead of the beat at times; marginal, but it’s there. Have a go at playing a fraction behind the beat to get more of that free flowing vibe.

Bring on some more man!

Cheers, Shane

Nice exercise, that is certainly way more entertaining that the way I practice my scales, got to learn from this

Funny thing: youtube had auto-caption turned on for me, and it really tried hard to understand some of the “musical phrases”, LOL!

Thanks for all the words of encouragement!
First time I’ve ever posted a video of myself playing, was a bit shy/embarrassed.
But my girlfriend had been after my ass saying i need to start at least maybe posting something somewhere not for views but just for sharing, and the first place that came to my mind that I thought I’d be comfortable with was this community. Will definitely be recording and posting more in the future.

Once again, thank you all.
