This is a great lesson. I think for what you get, its pretty easy to play. a riff. some power chord practice, a solo(!) super awesome. super rewarding. about 1000x easier to play on my mustang (electric) than my accoustic.

thanks justin, thanks kurt!

Hi Guys,
Regarding the chords that Justin shows us in this lesson, have the chords been transposed to suit standard tuning, instead of tuning down a whole tone? Cheers.

Hi everyone. I’m listening to this song in the Justin guitar songs app and it sounds like i the backing trackmight be in D standard tuning. ( whole step down). I.e, my guitar tone and the backing track don’t sync up if I’m in standard tuning. Can anyone confirm if I have this correct?

Just a heads up on the chord grips for this on the website. None of the power chords charts show, the link to the images seems to be broken. It’s not just for this song, presumably all of them but definitely also seven nation army lesson and smells like teen spirit.

At first I thought it’s because I was viewing left handed chord charts but changed setting and still the same.

I haven’t gotten to much on power chords yet. When trying to do the f power chord, and Justin says mute the thinnest 3 strings, how is that accomplished?

You just lift the part of your fingers that are closest to your hand up some. So that they are just resting on top of those strings. Not pushing them down on a fret, but just holding or resting them on top of the strings, so they dont vibrate a lot. While doing this you must keep tour finger tips pressed hard enough to keep your tone nice on the thick notes.
