Newbie question (I haven’t been to one of these Open Mics yet): where will the youtube link be posted, for audience members?
A query please Richard, I am not familiar with Streamyard and how it functions in the ‘AV chain’. Is their prior learning required for a performer to interface with the App?
I am only familiar with using the Zoom interface, a challenge in itself, currently used in JGC OM’s.
Thanks in advance
Good question Colin.
There was a discussion on using Streamyard for a previous Justin hosted OM.
Not sure where without looking. I have never performed at one of these.
I can give a brief summary of what to expect ‘within the studio’ .
FAO Performers … are any of you wanting to use complex signal chains or simple plug n play audio interface or simple camera / mic setups?
Same ol’ webcam/mic setup for me
The madman has you covered
Thank you, James, I will have a look at that post
Thank you, Richard, I am currently using my KISS set-up, namely:
Vox Mic & Guitar PU => Boss Acoustic Amp => Focusrite AI => Zoom App, hosted on PC
I will also look at @Socio 's Link too for a steer on Steamyard for ‘noobs’.
I was wondering because I have read mixed press on Streamyard; some folks rebadging it as “Steam- pile” … … but there are nay-sayers for most Apps …
Hi Richard,
I’d like to perform on the seasonal OM if possible,
Cheers
Ruaridh
If that signal chain replaces Zoom with Streamyard you’ll be good.
Been a long time since I wrote that guide and have not participated in any of the recent LS Shows (think I did the first 2 back in the day - old forum) but it should be a case of just declaring your Camera and Audio set up within the Streamyard settings as shown and is very similar to Zoom in that respect, assuming nothing has changed.
If you do this in advance ie follow the guide for checking levels ahead of the show, your settings will be carried forward and ready for your live performance.
Hope that helps.
Hi @Richard_close2u : It turns out I cannot make this time after all. I was hoping I could sneak away, but I just found out that this is in the middle of the workday here in Indiana. Please remove me from the list of performers. Sorry for the flip-flop.
We are getting very close to the cut off point, the deadline, for potential performers to declare their interest.
Believe I’m in the line up but to confirm I am grateful for opportunity to trial one new song
Danny
Will Justin want a fresh ‘bio’ or will the old blurb do?
(I think Tosh pulled out but is still in the lineup at the top.)
“Guest Bios” could be submitted on your behalf ?
Secret Santa bios.
Genius idea
I think it would be so fabulous also if some of the BLIMers did an end of term student concert kind of thing at some point
- I did an in person acoustic blues camp last month in Shrewsbury UK, and we finished the week with a public concert on the Saturday lunchtime. Lovely way to top,it all off
For previous performers, the old blurb will be fine.
Thanks for reminding me Brian … I need to ask the new performers.

We have 12 names so far which makes it 99.9% likely that you will all be given a slot.
Hurrah.
If you have never performed at one of the Justin hosted Live Streams can I please ask a favour.
Please will you send me a short bio of your guitar & Justinguitar background and story - something for Justin to read from to inform his introduction, and for him to get to know you a little prior to your performance slot.
Ideally 25-50 words. No more than that needed. You do not need to share them here in this topic - direct message me.
I will create a direct message conversation soon including all performers with more info and you can paste there.
Many thanks
Richard
