Well, that’s a bummer. Obviously, that’s not the intended behavior of the amp! I actually have a Roland Cube also and never saw a problem of this kind. All I can suggest is to re-check everything: Guitar plugged in, guitar volume knob at 10, amp power on, amp volume knobs not zeroed out, etc. Try it without the headphones, to eliminate another variable. Agreed. Now an expensive door stop. Well not too bad actually. Cost be £40 second hand!
